Healthy protein ladoo

Protein is the building blocks of the body. It plays a very vital role in promoting muscle strength. The ladoos we are making here is a very rich source of protein sourced from different varieties like green gram lentil, urad dal, nuts like cashews,almonds and some wheat flour and ragi flour.

It is very good nutritious food for all age groups, especially for those who wants to add few pounds of lean muscles to their body.  It is a very good supplementary snack for the kids who are averted for foods.

 

Ingredients

½ cup green gram dal

½ cup urad dal

1 cup wheat flour

1 cup ragi flour

½ cup peanuts

¼ cup almonds

¼ cup cashews

5 pods of cardamom

Ghee for making ladoo

 

Preparation

  • Firstly heat a pan and dry roast green gram dal until it turns lite golden brown in low to medium flame, then transfer to another bowl
  • Then dry roast urad dal in to golden brown or till it turns aromatic in medium flame and transfer in to a another bowl
  • In the same pan add 1 tsp ghee and add 1 cup wheat flour and roast till it turns aromatic in low flame and keep aside
  • Then add 1 tsp ghee and add 1 cup ragi flour and roast till it turns aromatic in low flame, transfer in to another bowl and keep aside
  • Furthermore dry roast ½ cup peanuts for 7 minutes in medium flame, once it cools down remove the skin and keep aside
  • Now roast almonds and cashews for 3 to 4 minutes and transfer in to another bowl
  • Grind all the nuts and dals along with 5 cardamom pods
  • Now mix all the grinded ingredients, wheat flour and ragi flour with 1 cup of jaggery and 2 tbsp ghee, grind this for few seconds in a mixi/food processor to combine all the ingredients well
  • Add melted ghee in small portion of this powder and start shaping the ladoo
  • Repeat the same for rest of the mixture

Protein rich healthy ladoo is now ready!!

6.Now roast almonds and cashews for 3 to 4 minutes and transfer in to another bowl

7.Grind all the nuts and dals along with 5 cardamom pods

8. Now mix all the grinded ingredients, wheat flour and ragi flour with 1 cup of jaggery and 2 tbsp ghee, grind this for few seconds in a mixi/food processor to combine all the ingredients well

9. Add melted ghee in small portion of this powder and start shaping the ladoo

Note:

  • you can adjust the jaggery as per your taste.
  • you can also use less ghee to shape ladoos.
