Soya Curry Recipe

Soya Curry

Soya is rich in protein and is a very healthy recipe for all age groups. Soya curry goes well with rotis, phulkas and chapathis.


Servings: 2 to 3


Note : 1 cup = 240 ml


2 Tbsp Oil

½ tsp Cumin seeds

1 Inch cinnamon stick

1 Bay leaf

1 Onion, medium size

2 Tomatoes, medium size

1 tsp Ginger garlic paste

1 tsp Red chilli powder

¼ tsp Turmeric powder

½ tsp Coriander powder

2 Tbsp Curd

½ tsp Garam masala

1 tsp Kasuri methi

Few Coriander leaves

Salt to taste

1 cup Soya chunks



  • Firstly, in a small pan boil 3 to 4 cups of water and add soya chunks, boil this for 2 minutes
  • Rest this soya chunks in hot water for 10 minutes and squeeze out the water
  • In a mixi jar, grind two roughly chopped tomatoes and make a puree
  • Heat oil in a large pan, then add cumin seeds, cinnamon, bay leaf and sauté till it turns aromatic
  • Add finely chopped onions and sauté until it turns translucent
  • Then add ginger garlic paste and sauté for two minutes in medium flame
  • Add grinded tomato puree and cook for 2 minutes
  • Then add red chilli powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder and salt, mix well. Cook this for 5 minutes with lid closed
  • Then add curd and mix well
  • Add ½ cup water and then add garam masala and mix well
  • Then add boiled soya chunks, add another half cup water and cook this for five more minutes
  • Furthermore add kasuri methi and mix well
  • Finally garnish this with some coriander leaves

Soya curry is ready!!
