When it comes to sandwiches, a cheesy one with colourful vegetables captures the hearts of many. Cheese being rich in calcium when combines with veggies rich in vitamins makes it a very healthy and tasty recipe. People of all age groups would love this recipe. Let’s now see how to prepare Veg Cheese Sandwich,

Ingredients:  (1 cup = 240ml)

For stuffing:

2 tsp oil

1 onion, medium, finely chopped

1 small carrot, finely chopped

½ capsicum, finely chopped

1 green chilli, chopped

½ cup green peas

2 potatoes, boiled and mashed

Salt to taste

1/8 tsp turmeric

¼ tsp pepper powder

1/4 tsp chilli powder

¼ tsp jeera powder (cumin powder)

½ tsp amchoor powder (dry mango powder)

Coriander leaves few

Other ingredients:

Bread slices

Butter to toast

Cheese as required

 

Preparation:

  • Boil and mash the potatoes and keep aside
  • Heat a pan, add oil and add onion and sauté well
  • Then add chopped vegetables, green peas and green chilli and cook this for three minutes in low flame
  • Add  boiled and mashed potatoes
  • Furthermore add salt, chilli powder, turmeric powder, jeera powder and dry mango powder and mix well
  • Add coriander leaves and cook 2 minutes with lid closed; stuffing is ready now
  • Take bread slice, spread the stuffing and add some cheese on top of it, cover it with another bread slice and press gently
  • Spread some butter on the stuffed bread
  • Heat a pan or tawa and toast the bread evenly on both sides for three minutes in low to medium flame

Now cheesy veg sandwich is ready to serve!!
